| Quick snapshot of your marketplace subscription | LowerPlane dashboard — Settings → Billing |

In-workspace status. Under Settings → Billing, a “Subscribed via ” panel appears whenever your workspace is attached to a marketplace subscription. It shows your status, offer type, framework/employee sizing, billing cycle, contract end date, and a deep link back to the marketplace to manage.
Adding Employees Or Frameworks Mid-Term
If your organization grows beyond your current contract sizing, you have two options:Contact LowerPlane sales
Email [email protected] with your reference id and what needs to change (e.g., moving from 20 to 100 employees, adding a third framework). We’ll size a new private offer.
Accept the new private offer on the marketplace
Sales sends you a private-offer link. Accepting it either upgrades your existing subscription in place (AWS, Azure) or creates a superseding contract (GCP, Oracle depending on the flow).
You’re not blocked from adding people or frameworks inside the dashboard while a resize is in flight. LowerPlane doesn’t hard-cap you at the contract sizing — but staying above the contract for long triggers a check-in from sales.
Renewals
Renewals happen on the marketplace side per the contract terms you accepted at purchase:- AWS
- Azure
- GCP
- Oracle
Auto-renewal is on by default for SaaS Contracts. Toggle it from AWS Marketplace → Manage subscriptions → LowerPlane → Renewal settings. If you disable auto-renewal, the contract expires at the end of the term unless renewed manually.
Cancellations
To cancel, use your cloud marketplace’s subscription management flow. Do not delete data from your LowerPlane workspace first — cancellation from the marketplace side is what triggers the correct lifecycle:Cancel on the marketplace
Follow your cloud provider’s cancellation flow. The marketplace notifies LowerPlane via webhook.
Your workspace enters read-only mode
Your workspace stays fully readable until the end of your paid contract term. Users can still sign in, download audit packages, and export evidence.
End of term — data retention window
At the contract end date, your workspace enters a data retention window. Contact [email protected] within that window to export data or resume the subscription.
Billing And Invoices
All billing runs through your cloud provider — LowerPlane never charges your card directly for marketplace subscriptions.- Invoices appear on your cloud provider’s monthly bill. Line items are labeled by LowerPlane’s marketplace product code plus the dimensions you purchased.
- Payment method is whatever you have on file with your cloud provider (invoice, credit card, wire, drawdown from commit).
- Tax is handled by your cloud provider based on the billing address on your marketplace account. Update your tax address there, not with LowerPlane.
Switching Between Direct And Marketplace Billing
If you’re currently a direct LowerPlane customer and want to move to marketplace billing (or vice versa), contact [email protected]. We handle the transition in a coordinated way so your workspace, users, and audit history stay intact across the billing change.Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my LowerPlane workspace before the marketplace activation completes?
Can I use my LowerPlane workspace before the marketplace activation completes?
No — the workspace is provisioned during activation. That step exists so we can confirm the framework selection and sizing match what you actually need before controls and tests spin up. Activation typically completes within one business day.
Can I transfer my subscription to a different cloud account?
Can I transfer my subscription to a different cloud account?
Yes, but the change happens on the marketplace side. AWS, Azure, and GCP all support subscription transfers between accounts under the same organization. Contact [email protected] if you also need to move the LowerPlane workspace to a different customer of record.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your workspace stays readable until the end of your paid contract term. After that, there is a data retention window during which you can export or reactivate. After the retention window, data is deleted per our data retention policy — contact [email protected] for the current retention window length.
Can multiple people from my org access the LowerPlane workspace?
Can multiple people from my org access the LowerPlane workspace?
Yes — a marketplace subscription entitles the same seat and user counts as any LowerPlane workspace. Invite team members from Settings → Users & Roles just like a direct workspace.
Can I have multiple LowerPlane workspaces on one marketplace subscription?
Can I have multiple LowerPlane workspaces on one marketplace subscription?
A single marketplace subscription corresponds to a single LowerPlane workspace. If you need multiple workspaces (e.g., separate compliance programs for subsidiaries), each requires its own marketplace subscription — sales can bundle them into a single private offer.
