Overview

The Render integration reviews who has access to your Render workspace — the member roster, roles, 2FA (MFA) enrollment, and account status — via Render’s REST API. LowerPlane uses read-only access and does not modify anything in Render. (It also collects Render service/database inventory as infrastructure evidence.)
Render workspace members are identified by email, so LowerPlane can match each member to a person in your directory for offboarding — and Render’s API exposes per-member 2FA, so the MFA check works too.

Prerequisites

You need workspace admin access to create a Render API key. The key inherits your account’s access to its workspaces.

How to Get Your Credentials

Open Account Settings

In the Render Dashboard, open Account Settings.

Create an API Key

Go to API Keys and click Create API Key, then give it a name.

Copy the key

Copy the generated API key and store it securely.

Connecting in LowerPlane

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in LowerPlane.
  2. Find Render under Cloud Providers.
  3. Enter your API Key.
  4. Click Connect.

What LowerPlane Checks

MFA enabled

Flags any Render member who has not enrolled two-factor authentication.

User identified

Confirms each member resolves to a named person, not an anonymous or shared account.

Offboarded access removed

Flags Render access still active for an employee who has been offboarded in your HR directory.

Access valid

Verifies each member maps to a current employee in your HR directory whose access has been reviewed.
